The Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NorthPort Batang Pier at 4:30 P.M. on October 12, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Cubao, Quezon City.
The Fuel Masters wanted to make back-to-back victories while the Batang Pier wanted to end their losing skid which now reaches to four when the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup resumes this afternoon at the Big Dome.
If you want some dramatic finish then the squad of coach Louie Alas already had a couple of that this conference.
Yet, the veteran head coach understands that such kind of play at the end of the match won’t give his team more success especially that they’re currently near the bottom of the league’s “Magic 8”.
In their game against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, Matthew Wright was their hero and against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters it was the connection of Eugene Phelps and RR Garcia.
For NorthPort on the other hand, they’re almost on their way on snapping their losing skid yet TNT KaTropa’s forward Troy Rosario found his groove in the fourth quarter to salvage the game in their favor.
Though looking at the numbers the Batang Pier seems like a team where you don’t want to put your money in, yet, coach Pido Jarencio’s team is now almost in full force and that what his today’s counterpart is preparing.
“Their bigs are good, they’ve got lots of shooters and reliable guards and well-coached,” said Alas. “To beat them we need to bring our A-defensive effort. Ang dami naming dapat i-contain.”
“Mahirap i-stop lahat, that’s why I keep saying na kailangan i-contain lang,” added Alas.
