The Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Talk ‘N Text KaTropa Texters at 4:30 P.M. on August 31, 2018 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Fuel Masters are looking to make a quick bounce back game after they dealt their first loss this conference last Wednesday while the KaTropa are itching to end their two-game losing skid and avoid getting buried deeper in the standings.
Fatigue might be one of the key factors for Phoenix after their hard fought battle against the Alaska Aces in their last game.
“My starters played extremely hard last night… long minutes, especially Eugene (Phelps),” said Fuel Masters head coach Louie Alas.
In the first half, Phoenix played well and controlled the game. However, in the following half, coach Alex Compton’s adjustments did well for them as they turned the momentum of the game around.
In addition, the hot shooting of Phoenix from outside abandoned them in the final quarter and unable to recover as they absorbed its first defeat in the Governors’ Cup.
On the other hand, the KaTropa struggle to make consistent victories continue. To solve the problem, they have changed their import in Stacey Davis.
Davis arrived in the country just a day before their game against the Alaska Aces. Without ample time to adjust with his new team as well as to the climate of the Philippines, TNT dealt a blowout loss.
Now that Davis and the entire Talk ‘N Text have a four days rest and preparation against the Phoenix, the question now is “can they finally pull a win with an import”?
