President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will address the entire nation on May 4, 2020 where he will provide updates with regards to the government’s action to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Department of Health (DoH) made its 4:00 PM update today and reported that 262 more Filipinos got infected with the novel coronavirus and now has a total tally of 9,485.
Of those new 262 cases, 122 are from Metro Manila while 88 came from the Central Visayas and the remaining 52 are from different parts of the country.
The total death toll is now at 623 as 16 new deaths were recorded overnight.
Yet, the good news, the health agency recorded 101 new recovered patients which the total count of recovered patients to 1,315.
Just a week ago, President Duterte has decided to extend the lockdown in several places in Luzon until May 15 which includes Metro Manila. In some areas in Visayas and Mindanao, the extended 15-day lockdown was also imposed.
Areas that are declared moderate or low risk from the COVID-19 outbreak, their status got downgraded to a more relaxed General Community Quarantine.
