PVL 2021: Creamline Cool Smashers Destroy Balipure Purest Water Defenders In A Lopsided Match

The unbeaten Creamline Cool Smashers were too much for the Balipure in the 2021 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference, holding the Water Defenders to a league-low 25-3 in the second set on way to a commanding three-set triumph.

Creamline held Balipure to zero attacks in the second set while unleashing 17 of their own to win their sixth straight match in a row, 25-12, 25-3, 25-15, at the PCV Socio-Civic Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, on Wednesday.

In the second set, Michele Gumabao and Alyssa Valdez took turns landing the attacks that punished Balipure, which was restricted to just three points – the lowest score by a team in a match in league history.

Alina Bicar and Satrriani Espiritu were the lone scorers of the Purest Water Defenders in the second set. The former scored an ace while the latter managed to block a spike from the Cool Smashers. Jia Morado added a point to Balipure’s total with a service error.

With a 5-0 record, Creamline restored sole possession of the lead and extended its winning streak to 25 games, dating back to August 11, 2019.

Valdez finished with 16 points, four aces, and two blocks on ten attacks. Gumabao scored 14 points and Jema Galanza contributed 10 for the Cool Smashers, who also benefited from Jia Morado’s 25 excellent sets.
