Here is the list of rookies selected by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters during the 2021 PBA Draft.
The new head coach got installed and but almost the same players in their roster as ROS heading to their 46th PBA season.
One of the first tasks of coach Chris Gavina is to add new players to their lineup coming from the deep draft of the 2021 PBA rookies. In the first round, Santi Santillan from the De La Salle University.
The 6-foot-5 bruiser will bring his talents to the PBA and can use his experience from 3X3, MPBL, and even from his years with the University of Visayas where he spent his first two-years during his amateur playing days before he transferred and then became a Green Archer.
In the second round, things went from relaxing to super busy for the Elasto Painters as they were given not one, not two but three picks. They selected Fil-Am Franky Johnson, Anton Asistio, and Andrei Caracut. These three newly minted Rain or Shine players are all playing in the guard position and this will give more pressure to their team’s resident guard for the arrival of these new-bloods.
In the third round, they selected Kenneth Mocon the younger brother of Jayvee Mocon. Kenneth helped the Davao Occidental Tigers in the MPBL to win the championship of the just concluded Lakan Cup season.
In the fourth round they picked RJ Argamino and in the fifth round, they choose Philip Manalang the starting guard of the University of the East in the most recent UAAP season and also played with the Basilan Steels.
