The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Alaska Aces at 6:45 P.M. on July 6, 2019 live from the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Both squads have the same goal in tonight’s main event match and that’s to end their respective losing skids.
The Aces are currently nursing their three-game losing slump while the Elasto Painters wanted to halt their back-to-back defeats.
To aid that, Alaska recalled the services of Diamond Simpson who also reinforced them in last year’s Commissioner’s Cup.
With Simpson in the squad in 2018, Vic Manuel had his 20 points or more streak and for sure that the “Muscle Man” wanted to repeat that great performance.
Though the squad of coach Alex Compton still absorbed another defeat with the arrival of Simpson last Sunday against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, yet their import has shown promise that good time will soon happen again.
Simpson dropped 22 points and 22 rebounds in that match which took place in the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
For Rain or Shine, on the other hand, coach Caloy Garcia isn’t happy the way his local is performing and he thinks that’s the main reason for their inconsistency to make wins.
“Nakaka-frustrate to see your import doing his best but the locals are not being consistent. You see them play good one game, then off the next,” said Garcia.
He wanted his troops especially the long-range bombers to start making their shots just like what they did in the Philippine Cup.
“At the same time, we have a good import. The only problem is that we haven’t been making the usual shots that we used to make the last conference. We are getting those open shots and we just have to make it,” Garcia added.
