The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Blackwater Elite at 4:30 P.M. on October 23, 2019 live from the Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City.
The Elasto Painters wanted to end their four-game skid and start winning while the Elite will try to move up in the standings when the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup resumes this afternoon in Pasay.
Rain or Shine will parade a new import to help them sweep their remaining five games to improve their chances to enter the quarterfinals.
In the past two conferences, the Elasto Painters reached the semi-finals round yet in this season-ending tourney, they found themselves at number 11.
Former NLEX Road Warriors import Kwame Alexander was tapped by ROS who is expected to bring them to the promised land.
“He has been okay. I think he has already adjusted to the weather and jet lag,” said Garcia. “Hopefully, he can give us the spark we are looking for.”
For Blackwater camp, on the other hand, coach Aris Dimaunahan also expects the same for his troops.
Similar to their today’s opponent, the Elite has five remaining games but the good news for their squad is that they’re currently at number 8 in the standings, the last spot for playoffs.
“Ambisyon namin last game maka-back-to-back, di nagawa kaya subok ulit bukas,” said Dimaunahan. “Limang laro natitira, sana ma-umpisahan na bukas. Kasi dikit-dikit standings sa ilalim. Kailangan naming makaiwas du’n, lalo pa ngayon na pahirap na ng pahirap kalaban.”
