
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters is scheduled for a head-to-head quarterfinals game against the GlobalPort Batang Pier at 4:30 P.M. on July 10, 2018 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Quarterfinals round resumes today and it will be the battle of seed number 1 against seed number 8.
The Elasto Painters carries a twice-to-beat advantage entering the game as they landed at the top spot of the standing at the conclusion of the elimination round.
ROS coach Caloy Garcia wanted his wards to set aside that advantage and wanted his wards to have much stronger desire on taking care today’s ball-game and move ahead to the next round.
“We have to want it more tomorrow,” Garcia said the day before their scheduled game. “We cannot think about the twice-to-beat advantage,” he added.
The last time both teams went matchup against each other was last May 20. It was a bloody and emotional game where Rain or Shine outlasted the Batang Pier, 96-90.
Chris Tiu spit a mouthful of blood on the floor after he was accidentally elbowed by GlobalPort import Malcolm White. Likewise, several players got ejected from the game as multiple technical fouls got whistled due to players confrontation.
“We just have to be focused on the game,” maintained Garcia. “We worked hard to be where we want. GlobalPort is a tough physical team and we have to match that.”
