Javee Mocon, now a Fuel Master, takes his talents to Phoenix after he was traded on Tuesday for Rain or Shine’s Nick Demusis, a first-round pick in 2022, alongside a second-round pick in the 2023 draft.
Mocon started playing in 2018 when he was drafted by Rain or Shine (originally from TNT via trade) as the sixth pick of the first round. In the 2021-22 season, he averaged 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists for the squad.
After the trade papers reached the Commissioner’s office, the trade was then approved. Mocon arrives on his second team in the PBA.
Demusis, who was exposed to limited minutes during his times with the Fuel Masters in the most recent season, racked up 3.4 points and 2.8 boards as a forward for the team.
With his new team, Mocon joins the forward rotation led by the gunner Matthew Wright while the 29-year-old forward can aid the Elastopainters squad as a second unit to back up Torres and Belga.
