The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Kia Picanto at 4:30 P.M. on January 20, 2018 live from the Cuneta Astrodome.
The Picanto’s has a new surprise to its fan this afternoon and hoping to stop their losing skid which started wayback from 2017 PBA Commissioners’ Cup while the Elasto Painters are eyeing for a back-to-back wins.
After got relegated to unrestricted free agent list then later formally released by NLEX, Carlo Lastimosa received a call from the struggling Kia Picanto seeking for his scoring abilities.
Lastimosa was one of the guard rotation palyers of the Road Warriors last conference and prior to joining coach Yeng Guiao’s squad, he also played with the Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters.
Currently, coach Ricky Dandan is 0-2 after taking over as the head coach of Kia. They played competitive basketball in the first half but it was the exact opposite when they’re playing in the second half.
These scenarios were seen when they battled against the Fuel Masters and the Aces.
Rain or Shine demolished the Fuel Masters from the first quarter until the last buzzer during their last outing played at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
For the first time this season, James Yap broke the 20-point mark as he dropped 20 points. Yap also found his shooting strokes from behind the rainbow arc as he converted his four out of his five attempts.
Apart from “Big-Game-James”, Chris Tiu, Ed Daquioag and Dexter Maiquez also have stellar performance. Maiquez took advantage for the playing time he received from coach Caloy Garcia after the bench head tactician decided to sideline Raymond Almazan.
“I just hope we can continue doing the same thing just like what we did (against Phoenix),” said Garcia.
