The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NLEX Road Warriors at 4:30 P.M. on January 26, 2018 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
After its magnificent two-game winning streak the Road Warriors are now staring on their three-game losing skid while the Elasto Painters got a painful blow against the Kia Picanto in their last outing.
Both teams came from a physical match and it resulted to miss key players in today’s curtain raiser.
NLEX will miss the services of Denok Miranda who got slapped a fine and one game suspension after kicking San Miguel Beermen Chris Ross.
On the other hand, Rain or Shine will enter the game without Raymond Almazan who also got his own version of fine and a game suspension after he got involved in a scuffle against Kia Picanto’s forward Eric Camson.
Just like his team the Road Warriors, Kiefer Ravena scoring punches are also in roller coaster ride and coach Yeng Guiao needs to find another or perhaps more scoring threat from his bench.
More players delivering points is the strategy of coach Yeng Guiao, a system which brings more success to his already stellar PBA career.
“With our system, we always won more games when more people got involved and more people scored in double figures,” Guiao said. “Kiefer played a great game offensively but he did not get enough support from the rest of the team.”
Just like the popular mantra “everything that has a beginning has an end”, Rain or Shine has ended the losing streak of Kia Picanto which dates back from 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
That news certainly not a good read for the entire Elasto Painters squad. If they wanted to advance to the next round of the All-Filipino conference then they need to start piling up more wins.
