The Fuel Masters are looking to break their woeful seven games losing skid while the Elasto Painters will strengthen their current position in the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup standings before heading to the Quarterfinals round.

Jeff Chan will face his former team for the first time after he got traded to Phoenix Fuel Masters a month ago.

Speaking of trades, coach Ariel Vanguardia’s squad once again made some realignment but it’s more for the future of the franchise.

Phoenix was part in the last Monday’s 3-team trade which involves Ranidel de Ocampo, Norbert Torres and Justin Chua.

The Fuel Masters received Meralco Bolts 2017 first round pick and Talk ‘N Text KaTropa Texters’ 2019 second round pick.

“(Those trades) give us more options and ammunitions for future trades,” said Vanguardia.

Currently, Phoenix got stuck in their two wins which they earned back-to-back at the start of the third conference. They are now in a must win situation in order for them to advance to the next round.

“Last chance for us to catch the last bus,” said Vanguardia. “We need to play as if our lives depended on it.”

In their last outing, Rain or Shine dueled with a more determined and hungry to win, the San Miguel Beermen.

Despite of having a struggling import and played against an All-Filipino lineup almost all quarters, the Elasto Painters still got defeated by San Miguel.

In their 4:15 PM schedule, RoS have another advantage against their opponent and that is their big-men. Even the Phoenix coach already aware of the situation.

“We’re struggling with the transition, from inside-oriented to outside,” Vanguardia has said in a previous interview. “Kulang ng bigs.”
