Raymond Almazan Got Traded To Meralco

The PBA Commissioner’s office has approved a trade that will ship Raymond Almazan to the Meralco Bolts.

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters will get the 2019 and 2021 1st round draft picks from the Bolts in exchange.

Meralco head coach Norman Black looks like he is very much pleased with the arrival of Almazan to his team.

He considered that the man who is also known as the “Rock en Roll” Almazan is one of the premium big-man in the Philippines.

“Almazan is one of the best bigs in the country, an international team player. He’s 6’8 which give us some size and hopefully he can come and help us inside the paint,” said Black.

Without a legitimate center especially during the Philippine Cup, Meralco struggle to manufacture more wins and Black is hoping that with his new addition in their roster will bring them more success.

“We want to win now,” added Black.

Almazan played only few games with Rain or Shine in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup but his team still finished second in the standings and one win away to the All-Filipino Finals.
