Rain or Shine Elasto Painters guard Rey Nambatac was named as the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Player of the Week.

“The Stingray” notched the BA Press Corps-Cignal Player of the Week honor from June 3-9.

Nambatac helped his team to return to the .500 winning percentage after their slow start this mid-season tournament.

On that span where RoS played two games, he averaged 20.5 points along with the back-to-back victories for his squad.

Against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, Nambatac logged his career-high with 30 points. He was hot from the rainbow territory converting seven out of his eleven attempts.

Few days later, the second year man from the Letran Knights gave Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters at the final quarter as he caught fire once again from the three-point land.

Nambatac edged his teammate JaVee Mocon, Alaska Aces Chris Banchero and Jeron Teng, rookies Robert Bolick and Bobby Ray Parks and TNT’s Jayson Castro, Troy Rosario, and Roger Pogoy for winning the award.

Nambatac and the Elasto Painters will be back in action on June 19 and they’ll be battling against another team leader this conference, the NorthPort Batang Pier.
