The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters snapped Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok three-game streak and ties the series to 3-3.
Not Paul Lee nor James Yap poured three-pointers in clutch moments of the game but it’s the second year player of the Elasto Painters, Rey Nambatac.
“The Stingray” found his touches in the fourth quarter and delivered 13 points for his squad. He swished four treys and ignited the much needed Rain or Shine run.
“It’s do-or-die for us, at pinag-usapan naming eto yung point na ayaw naming masayang yung pinaghirapan namin. Sabi namin huag namin pwersahin dahil kayang-kaya naman namin ang Magnolia,” said Nambatac.
Nambatac also stressed that it’s really their veterans who set the tone of the game and the young guns just followed their footsteps.
“Lahat nang ipinasok ni coach (Caloy Garcia) nag-step up, especially yung mga beterano. Sila actually ang talagang nag-lead sa amin, at sumunod lang kami sa kanila,” Nambatac added.
Ian Sangalang and Paul Lee paced the Hotshots with their 19 and 18 points respectively.
Game Seven is scheduled this coming Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
