The San Miguel Beermen has added more young blood to its backcourt position to bolster their 45th PBA season campaign.
Gelo Alolino and Wendell Comboy received a one-year contract from SMB. Alolino was a second-overall pick in the 2016 PBA regular draft while Comboy was a second-rounder in the 2019 PBA draft where he was picked by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters but later he was left unsigned.
Alolino last played with the Blackwater Elite but his utilization inside the court was limited. He logged 8.9 minutes in 22 Elite outings where he produced 2.1 points and 1.9 rebounds.
Comboy, on the other hand, was a former Far Eastern University Tamaraws standout and one of the high scoring guards in his amateur days in the UAAP.
Though the pair are brimming with potentials still, they needed to battle for minutes as SMB already has a loaded guard rotation.
