The defending champion San Miguel Beermen are moving forward to the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup Finals after beating Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters in Game Five, 105-94.

Right off the bat San Miguel storming the basketball floor of the Cuneta Astrodome as they punded the Fuel Masters with their sharpshooting from the three-point land.

That SMB barrage was enough to deflate Phoenix’s pesky defense in the first quarter.

Chris Ross and Alex Cabagnot were the two Beermen who ignited the first half run then later Von Pessumal and Marcio Lassiter joined the party.

San Miguel’s lead ballooned to 25 points but slowly but surely the Fuel Masters tried to keep the score close as they trimmed it down to 12 after the second quarter.

Then on the second half particularly in the fourth quarter Phoenix head coach found his “magic bunot” as he deployed LA Revilla to do the playmaking job.

Revilla able to make a spark as they unleashed a 7-0 run and put their team in a striking distance, 96-92 with 3:58 remaining in the game.

Yet, SMB guard Terrence Romeo wanted to experience a PBA Finals match shutdown the hopes of comeback from Phoenix.

Romeo once again demonstrated his scoring skills and this time against LA Revilla. He made a Jordanesque jumpshot and gave San Miguel a much bigger advantage, 100-94.

Then Arwind Santos, June Mar Fajardo and Alex Cabagnot finished the job as they added more points for their squad.

San Miguel will now wait for the winner between the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. Magnolia is leading in their best-of-seven series 3-2.
