A former NBA player Dez Wells will suit up for the San Miguel Beermen for the upcoming 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Though he was not selected during the 2015 NBA Draft yet he was able to find ways to sign a short contract with the Washington Wizards and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Watching on few of his highlight reels available online, his style of play has a resemblance to Houston Rockets superstar James Harden minus the what they now called the unguardable step back.
Wells will be first seen in action wearing the Beermen jersey next month when the SMC flagship team travel to Macau for the East Asia Super League Terrific 12 tournament.
San Miguel has collected the first two gems of the PBA 44th season and one more left to complete and bag the elusive grand slam.
Yet, the season-ending conference is the most challenging for them. In the last three years the best finish they can do is to reach the semis and in the past two seasons, they were eliminated in the first round.
Still, they have something to pull out where they can get their needed motivation entering the final tournament this 2019. They need to rekindle their memory that they won the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup championship trophy.
