The San Miguel Beermen is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel at 6:45 PM on October 30, 2020 live from the AUF Sports Arena and Cultural Center in Angeles City, Pampanga.
On Wednesday (October 28), the San Miguel Beermen (SMB) rallied from behind against the Meralco Bolts to register their fourth win, 89-82.
Amid the 13-0 surge of the Bolts in the third quarter, Arwind Santos unleashed a trey and ended the Beermen’s drought with 1:33 left, 65-54. A Chris Ross trey ended the quarter, 69-60.
Past the halfway mark of the fourth quarter, SMB made a comeback and took the lead, 83-75. Aaron Black and Allein Maliksi trimmed the deficit, 83-80, but triples from Alex Cabagnot and Ross pulled off the win for the Beermen.
Mo Tautuaa led all scorers with 23 points and five rebounds, while Santos registered another double-double with 17 markers and 11 boards that gave San Miguel their third straight win. The Coach Leo Austria-coached team is now at 4-2.
Meanwhile, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel will try to bounce back from a sorry-lose against the determined Rain or Shine Elasto Painter on Tuesday (October 27).
Scottie Thompson’s double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, Stanley Pringle’s 20 markers, and Japeth Aguilar’s 13 points and game-high 12 boards were incomparable to ROS’ Beau Belga as he played his best game yet inside the bubble, finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and two steals to lead the Elasto Painters to an 85-82 win in overtime.
The Gin Kings’ final tally was way short of their average of a little over 97 points per contest going to the game. The loss was Ginebra’s second straight, dropping it to 4-2 that mirrored their opponent’s record tomorrow, the San Miguel Beermen.
