The San Miguel Beermen is scheduled for a head-to-head quarterfinals round game against the NorthPort Batang Pier at 6:45 P.M. on July 21, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The Beermen will try not to end their campaign this conference while the Batang Pier wanted to shut the door and avoid to awaken one of the league’s mighty beasts when the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup continues at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
It seems odd but it’s true, the Batang Pier is currently the team that holds the twice-to-beat advantage as they finished number two after the elimination round.
Yet, despite their success in the first round of the second conference, coach Pido Jarencio still feels that they’re the underdogs of tonight’s battle.
That’s because they’ll be facing the San Miguel Beermen.
“Walang duda dehado kami,” said Jarencio. “Isipin mo kami pa ang natapat sa kanila,” he added.
In their lone encounter in the elims, NorthPort ripped San Miguel, 121-88. However, coach Jarencio and his squad will be facing a slightly different squad after the Beermen tapped the services of Chris McCullough.
With McCullough, the Beermen went 3-1 after their roller-coaster ride with former PBA Best Import Charles Rhodes.
