San Miguel (SMB) vs NorthPort | June 5, 2019 | PBA Livestream – 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup

The San Miguel Beermen is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NorthPort Batang Pier at 7:00 P.M. on June 5, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The eventual champion of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup is here and looking to dominate the mid-season and import-laden conference while the Batang Pier will be there to give them a test in their return to action when the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup resumes tonight at the Big Dome.

San Miguel dynasty in the All-Filipino conference was in a tough test during the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup.

It all started when the last conference’s playoffs began as they tangled with the TNT KaTropa, a team relied on their physical game. Then on the sem-final round it got more intense as they faced the Calvin Abueva-led Phoenix Fuel Masters, another squad whose identity is their physicality.

Then on the Finals round, probably the current best team when it comes to defense, the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang along with their “Pambansang Backcourt”. The SMB might in the no-import tournament almost got collapsed, yet, their biggest weapon in their roster took center stage to protect their crown.

June Mar Fajardo shown to everyone why he is the MVP for the past four seasons and the reigning All-Filipino Best Player of the Conference.

Fajardo and the rest of the San Miguel squad will now team-up with Charles Rhodes who helped them to win the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup trophy.

For NorthPort’s side, perhaps the reason why they brought Prince Ibeh to the league is not only to defend other team’s import but also to stop other local big-men like Fajardo and Ginebra’s Greg Slaughter.

They have tested that last time in their game against Barangay Ginebra though they fell short but it seems it’s effective. They just lost for only three points in that last Saturday’s match.

For sure, coach Pido Jarencio will make his adjustment but most especially will try to take advantage if SMB will show some championship hangover in their tonight’s game.
