The San Miguel Beermen is scheduled for a head-to-head semi-finals round game against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at 7:00 P.M. on August 2, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The Elasto Painters breaths life in their previous outing and avoid getting swept by the Beermen. They’re looking forward to making a repeat and hoping to tie the series at 2-all versus the Beermen when the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup resumes this evening at the Big Dome.
These two squads seem like fueled by different types of substances. That’s gasoline for ROS and diesel for the Beermen.
San Miguel’s head coach Leo Austria is a bit wary of that slow start yet was thankful for their first two victories because of their strong finish.
“In the past few games, we always had a bad start and it’s something that could affect our performance because we’re always in catch-up situations and it’s draining. Luckily, despite facing 29 points, 20 points, we were able to snatch a win. But it won’t happen all the time so that’s something we have to address,” said Austria.
In Game 3, that luck seems came to an end as the troops of coach Caloy Garcia able to wither the storm and registered their first win in this semi-finals round.
Now that they’re able to fight back by making their series at 2-1, the Elasto Painters is now more motivated to make it 2-2 at the end of tonight’s match.
“We just wanted it more (in Game Three). Before game day, we just did viewing, just looked at our mistakes, tried to fix it and hoped for the best. And our best came out with the win,” said Rain or Shine head coach Caloy Garcia.
“The players came out and played hard. We just didn’t want to lose, I guess. Maybe we can still extend the series again and bring it to Game 5,” Garcia added.
