The San Miguel Beermen is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at 5:00 P.M. on July 13, 2019 live from the Xavier University Gym in Cagayan de Oro City.
The Beermen are looking to log its fifth win this conference while the Elasto Painters wanted to strike its number six-win when the tournament resumes in CDO this afternoon.
Without a doubt, Chris McCullough gave SMB an electric shock in his arrival as he boosted the energy of the Beermen and unmasked its true identity.
San Miguel went berserk in its last two games where they were able to give its opponent at least a 20-point lead sometime during their respective matches.
McCullough dropped his scoring best with 47 points against the NLEX Road Warriors and then he followed it up with another monster night versus the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters where he delivered 37 markers.
The NBA draft first-rounder is expected to pour similar scoring production in their out-of-town game.
For Rain or Shine, on the other hand, they’ll continue to play without their original import Denzel Bowles who is reported to be out for two games after he sustained an injury against the Alaska Aces.
The Elasto Painters hired Carl Montgomery as his temporary replacement but so far he was able to help the squad of coach Caloy Garcia to make back-to-back victories.
“He isn’t the tallest nor the strongest import but he gives us the energy that we need,” said Garcia. “I want our locals to step up as we’re probably the smallest team right now.”
ROS is expected to spread the floor and hope that their long-range big-men shooters will convert.
Rain or Shine is one of the teams in the PBA that likes to utilize the three-point area as their main weapon. If they’re able to connect from that area then coach Leo Austria will be forced to adjust his defense and pull out his tall guys from the paint which in return will give room for the slashers of coach Caloy Garcia.
