The San Miguel Beermen is scheduled for a best-of-three quarterfinals match against the Talk ‘N Text KaTropa. Game 3 is at 4:30 P.M. on April 10, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Game 1 and 2 are now in the history books and this third and final clash for both teams in the All-Filipino Cup quarterfinals round, one team will get the ticket going to the semis after the final buzzer.
Seems like TNT is showing a different looks on the way they played defense.
KaTropa players not only very aggressive but they’re also very physical when they execute their plan on how to stop their opponent manufacturing points.
Talk ‘N Text head coach Bong Ravena is hoping that his players will demonstrate the same energy as they head on to the final game of their quarterfinals series.
“Hopefully, next game iyung intensity namin, energy namin pareho pa rin or more,” said Ravena.
Not only on the defensive end TNT players are doing excellent but also on their offense.
In the crucial moments of Game 2 and when their team needed to generate points, led by Jayson Castro created an opportunity to make his teammate open for a shot.
It appears that the KaTropa has found ways how to dismantle the Beermen during the end part of the game.
“Make it hard for them,” Ravena has said. “Stick to our usual, ‘yung sistema namin, depensa. We have to stop (June Mar) Fajardo, we have to stop their shooters.”
For SMB head coach Leo Austria, no big adjustment on their game plan is needed.
“I think we have made the necessary adjustments na minor lang naman,” said Austria.
Beermen fans are hoping that the statement of Austria could also mean that June Mar Fajardo is game-fit.
The five-time MVP got slowed down in the fourth quarter after he got hit on his forehead and felt pain on his knees.
