The San Miguel Beermen is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Blackwater Elite at 4:30 P.M. on September 5, 2018 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Beermen are looking to make two straight victories while four-time MVP June Mar Fajardo is in the sidelines nursing his injury. Likewise, the Elite are also hunting for their back-to-back wins especially now that one of their main man is back in their lineup.

Blackwater’s big-man Poy Erram is expected to wear the Elite’s jersey this afternoon and help his squad defend the interior area.

Coach Bong Ramos along with Allein Maliksi, Henry Walker, Nards Pinto and the rest of his team were successful on toppling one of the early favorites this third conference, the TNT KaTropa as they opened their season ending conference campaign.

Coach Ramos is now ready for their 4:30 PM match and knows what his troops needs to do in order for them to log their second victory.

“We really have to work double time on the defensive end,” added Ramos. “If not, SMB will score a lot of points and we’ll have a big problem.”

Although he came late in their game against the NLEX Road Warriors, Christian Standhardinger still able to lead his team in scoring.

Just like Poy Erram, Standhardinger is also fresh from Jakarta Indonesia where they helped Gilas Pilipinas to finish at fifth place in the Men’s Basketball tournament of 2018 Asian Games.

SMB’s Fil-German forward logged 36 points along with his 11 rebounds, enough to award him with the Best Player of the Week.

Without June Mar Fajardo in tow, Standhardinger’s playing time will surely increase.
