The San Miguel Beermen is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok at 6:45 P.M. on February 4, 2018 live from the Ynares Center-Antipolo.
The Hotshots wanted to keep their winning streak burning and looking to add more and make it six-game straight victories while the Beermen are seeking to avenge their loss against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
With their second game in just three-days coach Chito Victolero knows it’s not easy but his troops needs to bring their A-game especially facing the three-peat PBA Philippine Cup champions, the San Miguel Beermen.
“It’s a tough back-to-back games against Blackwater then San Miguel. It’s good we beat Blackwater and we have some momentum to ride on for our SMB game. But we definitely have to play a higher level of game if we’re to beat San Miguel,” said Victolero.
However, the winning momentum carried by the Hotshots is one of the concerns of coach Leo Austria who tasted his first defeat this All-Filipino conference last Sunday.
“They enjoy a good momentum, and we have to be ready for a battle,” said San Miguel coach Leo Austria.
Both teams will be missing their ace guards during their 6:45 PM clash. Alex Cabagnot of the Beermen is out due to an injury but may be back at the second week of February.
“According to the doctor, he will be missing three to four weeks and probably, he won’t be able to play until the second week of February,” Austria said.
While Paul Lee who started on fire this 2017-18 PBA Philippine Cup and continued his hot shooting but it was halted when he landed bad and sprained his ankle.
“Magang-maga na. Malas lang, hindi ko ini-expect, hindi naman natin maiiwasan yung ganun,” said Lee.
