The San Miguel Beermen is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at 6:45 P.M. on May 13, 2018 live from the Ynares Center-Antipolo.

The defending champion Beermen will try to make a bounce back game after failing to snag its first victory few days ago while the Elasto Painters are looking to steer its wheels back to the winning tracks after an impressive 3-0 start.

All PBA fans eyes were looking on the 2017 PBA top draft pick Christian Standhardinger as he made his PBA debut last Wednesday. The Fil-German only managed to score four points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in his first 20 minutes of action.

“My job is to defend, give energy and facilitate more. And that was my main focus on the court. I will do that, keep doing that as long as the head coach tells me different,” said Standhardinger.

It is apparent that Standhardinger is still adjusting to the system of the San Miguel Beermen. Although his stats not that shiny, his head coach Leo Austria like what he sees from his 6’8″ big-man.

“We all saw the energy he put in the game. He’s of big help to the team although it’s his first game and he’s still trying to adjust,” said Austria. “He’s in the adjustment period. He’s trying to figure out what is good for the team, what kind of help he has to provide. But we saw his worth.”

Despite of the 30 points and 17 rebounds explosion made by Rain or Shine import Reggie Johnson, coach Caloy Garcia and his wards weren’t able to protect their unscratched win-loss record as they absorbed its first loss against the Columbian Dyip last Wednesday.

Garcia thinks that his troops went complacent when they clashed against coach Ricky Dandan’s team. Last conference when Columbian still known as the Kia Picanto, their only victory came from the Elasto Painters.

“So for us right now, you have to respect everybody. You can’t go in the game thinking you’re going to win right away. You have to work for it,” said Garcia.

“Hopefully, we play better on Sunday,” he added.
