The San Miguel Beermen is scheduled for 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals Game 4 against the Talk ‘N Text KaTropa Texters at 7:00 P.M. on June 28, 2017 in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Beermen is looking ahead with a commanding 3-1 series lead against KaTropa when their Best-of-Seven 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals resume this evening.
An awful 23 turnovers committed by Talk ‘N Text in their Game 3 battle which resulted to San Miguel 26 points. That was actually the story of that match, not Pogoy’s zero points nor Joshua Smith injury.
That concern need to be addressed by coach Nash Racela in order for his troops to even the series and prevent getting buried deeper in the hole.
“We have to identify our problem with turnovers. We need to address that,” said Racela.
It was also the second straight game that a player kicked another player under the belt. In Game 2 it was Arwind Santos and RR Pogoy got involved in Game 3 it was Ryan Reyes and Chris Ross.
Ross was slapped with a flagrant foul penalty 1 which sent him to the bench and can’t join back inside the basketball court for 3 minutes.
Without their starting point guard, coach Leo Austria called Brian Heruela and turned out to be the momentum carrier for the Beermen.
Heruela scored 5 points doing his best in 14 minutes of playing time but most importantly he continued to frustrate Jayson Castro with his defense which was started by Ross in the first half.
“The Blur” contributed 17 points for KaTropa but almost had the half of the turnovers (10) of his team.
Before the start of Game 4, the league will announce two of the most important awards of the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup. PBA will unveil the Best Import as well as the Best Player of the Conference.
Charles Rhodes of SMB leads all foreign hire for the Best Import award while his teammates Alex Cabagnot and Chris Ross will compete for the Best Player of the Conference.
