Presidential candidate Senator Grace Poe of Partido Galing at Puso declined the claims tossed at her and mentioned that she’s not a puppet of her political supporters which includes among the country’s most significant businessman Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco Jr., a close relative of President Benigno S. Aquino III and also the late President Corazon Aquino.
In the course of the second leg of the very popular and the just concluded Presidential debate launched by Comelec and the University of Philippines held in Cebu, Senator Grace Poe was questioned by TV host Lourd de Veyra mentioned that Mayor Rody Duterte, had referred Poe a puppet of Cojuangco, the founding father of (National People Coalition) NPC which has endorsed Senator Grace Poe’s candidacy for 2016.
The Senator replied “Hindi po si Mayor Duterte ang nagsabi na ako ay puppet kung hindi isang miyembro ng kanyang campaign,” Poe said.
Senator Grace Poe stated that the questionable coco levy funds worth P70 billion are no longer with Danding Cojuangco and also said that the resources were already with the national government under the administration of President PNoy.
“Ang pera na ito ay wala na kay Danding Cojuangco at kung nasa kaniya pa man, ako ay magiging patas,” Senator Poe said. In June 2015, the Supreme Court ceased the implementation of two executive orders – EO 179 as well as EO 180 – granted by Aquino covering the fund.
