The Purefoods-Star Hotshots is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Alaska Aces at 7:00 P.M. on May 31, 2017 in Cuneta Astrodome.
A battle of hot and cold teams will be witnessed tonight by die-hard PBA fans.
The Hotshots are coming in blazing hot with their four-game winning streak while the Aces will try to end their six-game losing skid.
Alaska started this conference with an amazing four-game straight victories despite of having incomplete lineup.
During that hot streak, Dondon Hontiveros, Vic Manuel and Chris Banchero were all sidelined due to injuries but yet coach Alex Compton’s squad apper as unbeatable.
But those glory days seems like in a distant memory for Alaska as they lost the energy and the tenacious defense they demonstrated earlier.
The Hotshots however, are in a right path at the moment winning its last four assignments after a back-to-back losses against the Beermen and Barangay Ginebra.
Star head coach Chito Victolero still expects that their game against Alaska will be hard pressed.
“We expected a grind-out game versus Alaska because both teams need to win for positioning in the quarterfinals,” said Star coach Chito Victolero.
“Proper mindset and focus are very important for this game. Going into the playoffs, we want to be more consistent on doing the right things, and this game will help us a lot in our preparation for the next level,” Victolero also said.
