The Star Hotshots is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Kia Picanto at 4:15 P.M. on September 22, 2017 live from the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Hotshots will attempt to take back its slot as one of the top four teams of the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup while the Picantos still seeking for its first win in the third conference.
Although already out of contention, Kia shown improvement in their last two games and even gave the formidable San Miguel Beermen a scare in their previous outing.
Star Hotshots coach Chito Victolero is aware of how Picanto played and knows what to do in their afternoon’s match.
“Kia is a dangerous team because there is no more pressure to play. They almost beat SMB so we just need to go hard, prepare hard, respect the game and respect our opponents in order for us to win this game,” said Victolero.
Also, Star still have the chance to make it to the “Magic 4” only if other teams will loss their respective last assignments.
“We need to win our remaining games, then iyung ibang teams matalo,” said coach Chito Victolero, whose Hotshots are currently at seventh behind 8-2 leader Ginebra, 7-2 Meralco and TNT and NLEX, both 7-3.
“Wala na sa control namin, pero may chance pa if we take care of our end,” added Victolero.
Kristofer Acox the new Hotshots import who replaced Malcolm Hill had a stellar PBA debut game against Talk ‘N Text where he contributed 18 points and 18 rebounds for his team.
However, Acox effort wasn’t converted to a win for Star which already dropped its four games in their last five outings.
