The Purefoods-Star Hotshots is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at 7:00 P.M. on June 5, 2017 in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Elasto Painters will begin its second round as well as defending their crown against the Hotshots.
Only if those two losses of Star aren’t came from the Beermen and the Gin Kings then they should be at the top of the standings and enjoying the twice-to-beat advantage.
Star relegated to third spot due to the current quotient system followed by Philippines Basketball Association (PBA).
Their most recent game against the Aces was a showcase of determination and persistence.
The team that once known as Purefoods TJ Hotdogs were down in the first three quarters but climb back and was seen leading in the fourth quarter.
Paul Lee and Justin Melton led Star surging run in the last quarter and also in the extra period. Both players also heaves the ball around two steps away from the three-point line that keep the Hotshots in the game.
That win against the Aces marked as the five straight victories for the Hotshots. PBA import returnee Ricardo Ratliffe is without a doubt is the main ingredient of those streaking success.
Another interesting feature in this match is the Paul Lee vs James Yap duel. Both players exchanged teams early this season but so far it was Lee who is having more team W compared to Yap.
Paul Lee was Rain or Shine’s Finals MVP last year and looking to prove that second conference is his realm not RoS.
