The Talk ‘N Text KaTropa Texters is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Columbian Dyip at 4:30 P.M. on June 1, 2018 live from the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Columbian Dyip are looking to avenge their blowout setback prior to the 2018 PBA All-Star break and regain their winning ways while the KaTropa wanted a solo second spot in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup standings.
After acquiring Terrence Romeo and Jericho Cruz to the TNT lineup, coach Nash Racela’s team put more depth in their backcourt but seems lacking power inside the paint as Mo Tautuaa moved to the GlobalPort Batang Pier.
That weak spot of KaTropa should have took advantage by their import who was a former Golden State Warriors forward in the name of Jeremy Tyler. However, Tyler fell short to the expectations of Talk ‘N Text franchise and he was released by the team.
Now here comes the “Jumbotron”, TNT’s import last year’s Commissioner’s Cup who helped them reached the Finals round and finished 1st runner-up against the San Miguel Beermen. Josh Smith is back in town and he will bring not only scoring but also power and size inside the paint. For sure he will bring havoc to the opposing team just like what he did in 2017.
On the Columbian Dyip side, coach Ricky Dandan utilized the long break practicing his team to play solid defense. The area where his team needs more improvement after they have successfully calibrated their offense.
“We had a productive two weeks of practice instilling a collective mindset focused on defense,” related Columbian coach Ricky Dandan.
“We hope to bring this tomorrow for us to have a chance of getting our fourth win,” added Dandan.
