The Talk ‘N Text KaTropa Texters is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Kia Picanto at 4:30 P.M. on January 31, 2018 live from the Mall of Asia Arena.
The KaTropa are eyeing for a bounce back game after losing to Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok few days ago while the Picanto still continue to find a working strategy to keep them picking up more wins.
The start of the do-or-die campaign for Kia begins this afternoon if the team wanted to pursue a slot for the 2017-18 PBA Philippine Cup Quarterfinals round. Currently at the last position of the standings, coach Ricky Dandan and the rest of his squad remains positive for their encounter against Talk ‘N Text.
“Our team is unfazed going up against another contender in TNT. We are prepared to take on the challenge of getting our second win regardless of who we play,” said Dandan.
Another reason why the veteran coach is so upbeat is because several of his players who got sidelined due to injuries are set to return to action. Jackson Corpuz, Russel Escoto and newly acquired Carlo Lastimosa are expected to be in Kia lineup in their 4:30 PM clash.
Despite of having no Paul Lee during their game versus the Magnolia Hotshots, TNT was unable to find its way to collect another win.
That’s why coach Nash Racela wanted his troops to have the feeling of urgency and not discounting the efforts of Kia in order for them to avoid a surprise defeat.
“We need to bounce back hard after a tough loss,” said TNT coach Nash Racela, while also admitting Kia should be a tough nut to crack.
“Kia is unpredictable, which makes them a dangerous opponent,” noted Racela. “We should play tomorrow with a lot of urgency.”
