The Talk ‘N Text (TNT) KaTropa Texters is scheduled for a head-to-head Quarterfinals game against the Rain or Shine (ROS) Elasto Painters at 7:00 P.M. on September 29, 2017 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Elasto Painters’ mastery against KaTropa continue in their playoff round as the team that is having twice-to-win now have the momentum going to their tonight’s clash.
Coach Caloy Garcia is anticipating major adjustment from Talk ‘N Text and he’s preparing for that as well.
“We have to do something new. It’s going to be a duel of strategies,” he said.
Rain or Shine was able to find success from their three-point shooters and that was one of the reasons why they have another 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup schedule.
“I encourage them to take it. I’d rather them take open shots than to turn the ball over,” said Garcia.
After dropping 36 points against the defending champion Barangay Ginebra San Miguel a week ago, Glen Rice Jr. only scored 19 in their first Quarterfinals encounter with RoS.
Rice converted only eight shots out of his twenty eight attempts (28%) from the field. One of his worst outing this conference and expected to bounce back strong.
“For sure, Glen will play well in the next game,” said Castro, not recalling their import to having back-to-back off nights.
TNT was chasing a 20-point advantage in the fourth quarter as the remaining time crossed halfway. Led by Jayson Castro, the KaTropa made is own run but unfortunately were unable to complete a come-from-behind win.
Kelly Williams seems like found his old MVP former as he scored 23 points while Castro added 22 points.
