The KaTropa are currently at the middle of the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup standings and looking to make a bounce after a loss while the Bolts will resume its campaign on getting back to the Finals after several weeks of rest.

Sometimes having a long rest could possibly convert a hot team into ice cold squad and that is coach Norman Black’s concern in their 4:15 PM match.

Apart from that, they’ll be also battling a team which are desperate to make consistent wins.

Meralco are coming from a 17-day break which is currently behind Barangay Ginebra San Miguel at 6-1 win-loss record. Bolts last game was against Phoenix Fuel Masters dates back in 18th of August.

“We are coming off a long break so it will be interesting to see how we respond,” noted Black.

“The KaTropa are also coming off a loss so they will be raring to bounce back. We will just focus on our defense and try to slow down the high-scoring TNT team.”

The good part of Meralco Bolts long rest is that it gives Cliff Hodge more time to heal his injury. Apart from scoring, the best part of Hodge game is his defense and the energy he provides to his teammates.

On the other hand, coach Nash Racela is focusing on the reigning PBA Governors’ Cup Best Import. He thinks that the secret recipe on bringing home the bacon is to stop Allen Durham.

“Our success will depend on how well we defend Durham,” said Racela. “We just have to try and make him uncomfortable,” he added.
