The Road Warriors will try to climb and reclaim the solo top spot of the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup standings while the KaTropa Texters will attempt to take over the Beermen in order to join the top four teams.
To solidify their chances to secure the twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals round, coach Yeng Guiao and his squad are seriously aiming for the eighth win.
“Our mission is to get to eight wins ASAP (as soon as possible),” said NLEX coach Yeng Guiao.
NLEX is currently sharing space with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the top of the standing at 7-2.
The Road Warriors will also try to exploit the recent player movement of TNT which sent Ranidel de Ocampo to Meralco Bolts.
“(We have) two tough games to accomplish that. TNT is the first big hurdle. We hope the RDO trade is going to create some adjustment issues that can work to our advantage,” said Guiao.
However, for KaTropa coach Nash Racela having this kind of change isn’t new for his team. Since early this year, several of its players were sent to Gilas to represent the country in an international basketball competition.
“I’ve mentioned this couples of games back, we’re unstable as a team because of a lot of things – Gilas, injuries, then Gilas again. That’s the sacrifice we had to make but it’s really tough,” said TNT coach Nash Racela after their last game.
“Di kami makabwelo. Ngayong kumpleto na, sana makabwelo na,” Racela added.
Talk ‘N Text will parade its new player acquisitions in their 7:00 PM match. Norbert Torres and Justin Chua will be seen donning the TNT’s uniform.
