Kai Sotto decided not to join his Ignite team in the NBA G League.
According to NBA G League President Shareef Abdur-Rahim, it was Sotto’s personal decision not to join the team.
He also said that another challenge for Sotto to join the team is the current International travel restrictions, health and safety protocols, in addition to being subject to quarantine.
He said Sotto will still be part of the extended family member of Ignite and Abdur-Rahim wishes him success in playing in the NBA.
It will be recalled that 7 foot 3 Sotto went to the US in recent weeks after the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers, where he was supposed to be one of the selected players, did not go ahead.
Currently, the Ignite team has a record of five wins and three losses where Filipino-American Jalen Green is among them.
