“Excited na mabigyan ng chance na makapag-tryout and makapagsuot ulit ng Gilas Pilipinas jersey,” Romeo said.
Yet, before he will have his new Gilas jersey with his name embedded at the back of it, he needs to compete with other players who are also wanted to be in the final four.
“Sana maging deserving ako na makalaro kasi ang lalim ng lineup,” he said.
Probably Romeo is the most experienced in playing FIBA 3X3 still he needs to be in his top form to be selected. Other players who are also trying out are Robert Bolick, CJ Perez, Chris Banchero, Ian Sangalang, Mo Tautuaa, Chris Newsome, Baser Amer, Anthony Semerad, Mac Belo, Raymond Almazan, and Jason Perkins.
Part of TR7’s preparation is to get himself familiar with the tournament’s rule particularly those new ones.
“Matagal na rin akong di nakapaglaro (ng 3×3), so kailangan kong pag-aralan kasi may mga bagong rules n kasi yung 3×3,” he said.
