Despite the score of team Philippines was already out of reach as they mounted a massive lead in the fourth quarter, the entire team still relentless on the defensive end.
With less than a minute in the final quarter, the ball possession was with the Qatari squad.
Nasser Khalifa Al-Rayes suddenly found an open lane and he took it. He might be thinking to at least give their home fans a show by ending the game with a slam dunk.
Yet, Ravena may have said “open lane no more” as he leap in mid-air for an emphatic block. Al-Rayes got knocked down and the Blue Eagles main-man gave him a stare down.
However that instance was called as a foul by the refs and coach Yeng Guiao also slapped with a “T” for continuous complaining.
“Parang may utang itong player ng Qatar kay Thirdy eh na hindi binayaran,” described by coach Richard del Rosario on the kind of defense threw by the 22-years-old phenom.
Ravena was a late addition in the Gilas squad and according to earlier news, his main role is to be a guard defender.
Gilas Pilipinas will resume its basketball action on February 24 in Kazakhstan.
