The TNT KaTropa is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Blackwater Elite at 4:30 P.M. on September 25, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Both the KaTropa and the Elite wanted to make their 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup opener on a right-footing. Yet, only one team will be granted when the third conference resumes this afternoon in Cubao.
After bringing in Terrence Jones last conference who is a scoring machine, another explosive scorer will suit up with the Talk ‘N Text this conference and that’s KJ McDaniels.
McDaniel who is a second-round pick of the Philadelphia 76ers joined the coach Bong Ravena-led squad in Macao for the 2019 EAST Asia Super League Terrific 12.
In that competition, McDaniels logged an average of 39.5 points per game.
That stat is enough to make him the marked man in today’s defense of Blackwater.
“Prolific scorer,” said Elite’s head coach Aries Dimaunahan. “Susubukan naming depensahan ng mahusay bukas, Hindi ng iisang tao… ng lahat para malimitahan at para magkaroon kami ng mas malaking chance na manalo,” he added.
Blackwater was also in the same Terrific 12 but several of their key players got sidelined due to either an injury or illness.
Coach Dimaunahan hopes that Bobby Ray Parks, Mike Digregorio, Rabeh Al-Hussaini and Mike Cortez will all be ready to duplicate or even surpass their performance at the last conference.
