The KaTropa have secured Game 1 and they’re now leading in their semis series. Yet, it is expected that the Bolts will come back stronger to even the series score to 1-all when the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup resumes tonight at the Big Dome.

The two imports of both squads almost canceled each other in terms of their scoring and rebounding productions. On the other hand, one of the areas why Talk ‘N Text got the edge is because of their locals’ support.

In the KaTropa’s camp, four players scored at least 11 points while on Meralco only two locals reached in double figures.

Meralco head coach Norman Black stressed that they needed to improve teamwork in their squad if they wanted to go deeper in the playoffs.

“So we’d just go back to the drawing board understanding that if you want to win at this level, if you want to win against a team like TNT you have to play as a team. You’re not going to get it done individually,” said Black.

For the KaTropa, their aim is to continue their strong defense which they demonstrated in Game 1 particularly on clamping down Meralco’s hulking import Allen Durham.

“Iyung buong break namin iyon lang ang pinraktis namin, kung paano sila ma-i-stop. So hopefully magtuloy-tuloy, hindi mawala defense namin,” said Castro.
