The Tropang Giga for sure wanted to stay undefeated in this conference as they entered midway of the All-Filipino elimination round while the Elite will try to make a bounce-back win and remains over .500 winning percentage when PBA games resume this afternoon.
After he got fired back in 2018 as the head coach of the then TNT KaTropa where he helped the franchise to reach the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals admitted that he lost his interest in the PBA. Yet, fast-forward to 2020 Nash Racela found a new home in Asia’s first professional basketball league as he is now the new bench tactician of the Blackwater Elite.
As the team’s main basketball strategist, Blackwater is now at 2-2 much better compared to Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok and NLEX Road Warriors which are usually among the casts during playoffs.
“I would not deny that after I got kicked out of Talk ‘N Text, in a way I lost interest in the PBA. I wasn’t watching the games for at least a year, even if my brother Olsen was coaching in Ginebra. I wasn’t really watching the games,” said Racela.
This afternoon will be the first time for him to face-off against his former team and if he’s successful in taking home the win, it’ll be dramatic as TNT currently has a perfect record in the current standings.
For Talk ‘N Text side, as mentioned they remain unblemished in this year’s All-Filipino tournament. Roger Ray Pogoy continue his hot shooting as he led TNT once again in scoring. In their last game, Pogoy poured 30 points along with five rebounds. This is the second time this conference that the Cebuano hotshot made 30 points or more.
“Pagod na kaming talo lagi sa all-Filipino. We want to prove kaya namin manalo dito,” said Pogoy.
