It’s the battle of the undefeated, that is the initial offering of the PBA Monday as the Tropang Giga will try to stamp their four-game winning streak while the Fuelmasters wanted a perfect slate after the last buzzer of today’s scheduled first game.
To put an icing on the cake, fans may now start to expect the return of Calvin Abueva after got sidelined due to some penalties slapped on him by the league last June of last year.
According to several news outlets, Abeuva may suit up with Phoenix in their game against TNT or Ginebra or Magnolia. In case he missed the game today still, it’s a big boost to their All-Filipino campaign.
With the man who is called as the “Beast”, the Fuelmasters finished number one after the elimination round of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup and surely they wanted a similar finish.
Currently, Phoenix is enjoying their early success in the conference having a 2-0 win-loss record. Yet, if you ask the interim head coach Topex Robinson, his squad status is in progress, and continue working on their chemistry.
“We could be 0-2, we could be 0-2; it doesn’t matter to us because we just wanted to grow as a team,” said Robinson.
“We reminded each other we’re not a team yet. We’re just a group of gifted individuals playing the game of basketball and we’re in the best position to be the team that we wanted to be, and it’s going to take a lot of sacrifices,” he added.
For Talk ‘N Text side, on the other hand, seems like each of their game they feature a player from their lineup who is going to have his career-high.
In the first game, it was Roger Ray Pogoy who dropped 45 points then Ray Parks Jr., who made his first 40-point outing, and recently it was JP Erram who got his 27 points performance.
