At the end of the first round, Ateneo Blue Eagles still perfect with its 7-0 slate. University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons challenged the defending champion last Sunday along with their upgrades led by Kobe Paras and Ricci Rivero but the game was a blowout in favor of AdMU.

The University of San Tomas Growling Tigers is much better compared last season as they owned the number spot of the standings. CJ Cansino is back in harness after he suffered an ACL injury at the later stages of the competition in UAAP Season 81.

De La Salle University Green Archers and the Far Eastern University Tamaraws shared the fourth spot having 3-4 record. For sure, these two ball-clubs wanted to do consistent winning ways in the second round to avoid complications for them to hop going to playoffs.

After they surprised the tournament last season as one of the early leaders in the elims, in this year’s edition the Adamson Soaring Falcons managed to make 3-4 and still staring to their two-game losing skid. For sure, coach Franz Pumaren is now brewing a much better strategy for them to climb up in the standings.

University of the East Red Warriors and the National University Bulldogs round up the standings having 2-5 and 1-6 record respectively.
