The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Far Eastern University (FEU) at 2:00 P.M. on October 14, 2018 live from the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Tamaraws are looking to solidify their position in the UAAP Season 81 standings now that they’re now in the number one spot while the Growling Tigers will try to catch-up and start their own winning streak.
Coach Nash Racela has reasons to do his famous “Ra-Ra” as his FEU squad is currently on a hot streak.
First they were able to slay the then undefeated Adamson University Soaring Falcons then few days later they slayed another big one, the defending champions Ateneo Blue Eagles.
Arvin Tolentino led the way when they played against Adamson University with his 19 points while it was Hubert Cani who top scored versus Ateneo and the only Tamaraw who scored in double-figure with his 12 points.
The University of Santo Tomas on the other hand are looking to make a repeat on beating FEU. They were successful on doing that last September 12 as they edged Tamaraws, 76-74.
Good thing the Growling Tigers had a five point lead with 13 seconds remaining in the fourth when FEU tried to make a comeback.
Hubert Cani sank a three-pointer that cut the deficit to only two, 74-76 still in favor to UST.
In the next possession, the Growling Tigers unable to make a basket and gave Far Eastern University a wide open opportunity to steal the game.
However, Cani wasn’t able to deliver a back-to-back three as time expires.
