The Growling Tigers has all reasons to growl as they’re enjoying a three-game winning streak and wanted to extend it as they opened the second round of the UAAP Season 81 while the Bulldogs wanted to avenge their defeat versus the league leading Adamson University Soaring Falcons.
After their dismal 1-4 start, University of Santo Tomas bounced back and win three in a row.
One of that victories is against the tournament heavyweights slayer the Far Easter University Tamaraws. FEU was in a back-to-back victories against the Soaring Falcons and the Ateneo Blue Eagles before they met UST.
Zach Huang was spectacular against the boys of coach Olsen Racela where he dropped 20 points along with his six rebounds.
For the NU Bulldogs on the other hand, they were the first team that tasted the might of Adamson as Jerrick Ahanmisi and the entire Soaring Falcons are itching on getting back in their winning ways.
Dave Ildefonso paced the Bulldogs in that AdU vs NU game where he scored 21 points.
The last time these two teams played in the first round the victory went to National University, 75-70. Dave Ildefonso was the leading scorer for the Bulldogs with 19 points while CJ Cansino topped the Growling Tigers with 20 points.
