The University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the University of the East Red Warriors at 12:30 P.M. on October 9, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Cubao, Quezon City.

The Growling Tigers will make an attempt to put an end to their two-game losing skid while the Red Warriors will try to stretch their winning ways to two-game straight when the UAAP Season 82 continues in Cubao this afternoon.

Team UST is coming from a loss against the Ateneo Blue Eagles last October 5 at the MOA Arena.

Unlike in their first encounter this season 82, UST almost gave Ateneo a stain to their still unblemished record. At the start of the second round of the tournament, the defending champion made sure that no more scare will happen as they edged the Growling Tigers with a convincing victory.

Mark Nonoy was the leading scorer for UST during that match where he delivered 18 points while MVP leading candidate Soulemane Chabi Yo got clamped down and only held with six points.

For team UE on the other hand, they’re coming from a victory versus the Adamson Soaring Falcons last October 5 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The Red Warriors’ hope for playoffs is very much alive after they stunned Adamson with an 80-74 upset.

Alex Diakhite and Rey Suerte were two of the many reasons for their victory. Diakhite exploded with 15 points in the third quarter of that game and registered a career-high of 29 points along with his 13 rebounds and two swats. Suerte, on the other hand, gave the finishing touches and chipped in with 26 markers.
