The University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers at 2:00 P.M. on October 10, 2018 live from the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Fighting Maroons are now in its two-game winning streak and looking for more when UAAP 81 resumes this afternoon at the MOA Arena.
Juan Gomez de Liaño and his brother Javi Gomez de Liaño were the headaches for the National University Bulldogs when both of them had a combined 39 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists.
However, UP almost lost the game if only JV Gallego decided to go to the basket instead of passing it out to Dave Ildefonso. It was the poor free-throw shooting of the Fighting Maroons especially in the final few minutes of the game that gave NU an opportunity to orchestrate a comeback.
“I hope that we can quickly put this aside as we have a game on Wednesday,” UP head coach Bo Perasol said. “We need to learn how to finish a game. If I have to review the game, I’d only be happy with fifty-percent of it.”
For the Growling Tigers on the other hand, they’re looking to duplicate their success the last time they played against the University of the East Red Warriors.
They will rely once again to the hot shooting hands of Renzo Subido who dropped 22 points against UE. Likewise, the double-double performance of CJ Cansino needs to be there in there 2 o’clock schedule.
