The Valenzuela SPV Top Marketplace is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Biñan Laguna Heroes at 4:00 P.M. on August 26, 2019 live from the San Andres Sports Complex, Malate, Manila.
The SPV Top Marketplace is hoping that they’ll be able to put a full stop to their awful seven-game losing skid while the Heroes are looking to book their fifth win in this National Heroes Day special of the 2019 MPBL Lakan Cup.
The Valenzuela squad is coming from a defeat against the Manila Stars last August 19 at the Cuneta Astrodome.
In that match, the SPV Top Marketplace started slow where they were limited to only nine points in the opening quarter. That slow start made them play catchup most of the game and they appeared like they emptied their tank in the final quarter and absorbed another loss.
Hans Thiele led Valenzuela in their offense as he logged 13 points along with 10 rebounds during that match.
For the Biñan Laguna group, on the other hand, they too fall as prey against the Stars in their last outing at the Angeles University Foundation Gymnasium.
Their opponent made a scoring surge in the first quarter to pound them as Manila registered 38 points. Likewise, the Stars dominated the paint as they outscored the Heroes in points in the paint, 20-46.
James Mangahas tried to carry his squad with 18 points in that game but failed to deliver a win.
